Thank You

Dear Caltrans,

I would like to thank you for shutting down highway 5 while I was on it last night. I truly appreciated the extra 3 hours I spent going 1 mile to your detour. You did a great job using the Amber Alert billboards to warn me. Not only that it was all worth it for 8 guys and half a car width's worth of work.

Next time, why don't you warn me before I get to the summit and can't get off the highway, perhaps at the Paso Robles pass but that may be too proactive. Where are my tax dollars going, obviously not to the signs! Or better yet, why don't you shut down two lanes of traffic and work on that half of the roadway. And, if you do make me sit in traffic for 3 hours and I have to drive through your detour that parallels the 5 you better have all your man power out there and let me know it was worth it. I really enjoyed seeing your empty roadway but perhaps the road needed a break. It does get overworked and even roads need a few hours off to relax.

Sincerely,

Cupcake G

CBD Part II

Alright guys, it's been awhile. Not much has happened in the past three months except a mental regrouping and some quality alone time. I'd like to apologize to my roommate for the recent surge in Wii products, I have to pass the time somehow.

So I know I swore off CBD after my one traumatic experience, thank you Michael, but true to form I went back for more. I might need a longer mental re-grouping. However, just like all the websites before I felt I couldn't write it off with one bad experience. This second meeting was..."ok."

We met down at Danny Coyles on Haight. If you haven't been its the one bar on Lower Haight that doesn't blend with the others, typical Irish establishment with dark wood and large TVs.

I was concerned before I went because his name was Mischa. Until that day the only Mischa I knew was from the "O.C.", a girl and had a slight drug issue. After some research by my friend we determined he must be German. I thought ok, I can work with this; I like German sausage, German beer, Oktoberfest and Rammstein had a decent hit back in the 90's. I can't quite grasp on to their love for the Hoff but every society has their guilty pleasure, so be it. "Jump in my car" is always a riot. Off topic...

He was nice. He has dreams of being a celebrity wedding photographer, loves pirate jokes and travels to Europe frequently. I gave it my best hour, went to the bathroom, came out and said I'm leaving to go home and put on my PJ's. He seemed satisfied with that and we parted ways.

Boring yes, but a much better way to say good-bye to CBD.
